Windy end to the workweek, and a wet start to the holiday weekend. Windy advisories have been posted areawide for easterly winds between 10 and 25 mph with occasional gusts approaching 40 mph.

A slow moving storm system will be impacting the region for the next 3 days. The heaviest precipitation is going to be dropped on southwestern Montana. If you are headed into the back-country for some camping and hiking, you'll be climbing into accumulating snow. Several inches of snow are anticipated around places like Glacier National Park and Yellowstone National Park. Spots like Butte and Bozeman will see a mixture of rain and snow, with slushy accumulations. Missoula and Kalispell will see valley rain and mountain snow. The driest and warmest day of this holiday weekend appears to be Monday. High temperatures on Memorial Day will top out in the mid to low 60s.
