U.S. Sen. Jon Tester and Republican challenger Denny Rehberg are starting off their hot election battle with two quick debates.
Tester, the Democrat, confirmed Wednesday he will debate Rehberg June 16 at the Montana Newspaper Association convention in Big Sky. The announcement comes a day after Rehberg easily cleared his GOP primary, as expected.
The two also will off a week later on June 24 at a Montana Broadcasters Association event in Whitefish.
Rehberg is vacating his U.S. House seat to challenge Tester in what promises to be the biggest race in the state. Millions of dollars are being poured in by both sides and their allies as both parties seek to control the U.S. Senate.
Both have already been on the attack in the race.
