A Kalispell museum is preserving the time honored tradition of hiking in Glacier National Park.
The Museum at Central School is currently hosting a grand opening of their "Mountaineering in Glacier Park" exhibit, sponsored by the Glacier Mountaineering Society. The museum says the photographs and hiking gear helps to share the history of the North Valley with the rest of the Flathead. Museum Director Gil Jordan says it might even encourage visitors to hike a little further next time they're in the park.
"If you're just a hiker, if you've enjoyed the hiking trails in Glacier National Park this exhibit is one that inspires you to maybe go a little higher, a little farther, maybe a little bit out of your comfort zone," said Jordan.
The exhibit will run at the museum until March 2013.
