KALISPELL, Mont. -

Senator Max Baucus pumped jobs Friday morning, meeting with tourism and outreach groups in Kalispell and Whitefish.

Baucus announced a tourism trade mission to Canada with the goal of drawing more of our neighbors to the north down to shop, dine, and explore the Flathead. Attendees agreed that it's a great time to encourage Canadian visitors, especially when their retail prices are higher than Montana's. Baucus says with more visitors comes more revenue and more chances for business owners to expand their employee base.

"It makes good sense for us in Montana to get Canadians to come down even more," said Baucus, "so we're selling the Canadians more stuff and they're taking it back up to Canada. That's going to provide more jobs in our state."
