MISSOULA, Mont. -

The national news channel, CNN, parked it?s crew in front of the Missoula County courthouse today.

They're in town to cover federal investigations into the way Missoula Police, prosecutors and University of Montana officials handled reported sexual assaults.

This CNN crew interviewed Missoula's Police Chief Mark Muir, County Attorney Fred Van Valkenburg, UM President Royce Engstrom and UM students. They also broadcast live to a nationwide audience from the courthouse lawn.

The Department of Justice launched an investigation into 80 alleged sex assault complaints not only to the University of Montana, but also to Missoula.

At issue, whether Missoula Police, prosecutors and UM officials mishandled sex assault and harassment complaints because of gender bias.

No timeline was given for the investigation.
