Butte Central Catholic Schools received $1 million from the Town Pump Charitable Foundation.
The donation will last Butte Central Schools 10 years at $100,000 a year.
Tom Kenneally, Sr. is the founder of Town Pump and graduated from Butte Central High School in 1942.
According to Butte Central Schools Director Don Peoples, Jr. the Kenneally family has gifted donations to the Central Schools for years and this year?s generous donation is a blessing.
Peoples, Jr. said the money is going to be used towards three distinct founds.
One, the Kenneally Excellence Fund. The fund is organized towards educational resources.
Two, Kenneally Town Pump Scholarship Fund. The fund will aid in tuition assistance.
Peoples, Jr. said the fund is important, because they want Butte Central School to be available to everyone in the community.
Third, the Kenneally Family, Faculty Fund. The fund insures the school will meet the appropriate salaries and benefits for all teachers and faculty.
Peoples, Jr. said Butte Central Schools are thrilled and honored to receive such a substantial gift.
He believes the money will really help all of their students, K through 12, achieve a better education.
"Really benefit the future it?s going to the help the kids that we currently have in our schools but it's going to help the kids of the future as well so we're just really thrilled and we're really going utilize those funds to continue the things we're doing in the classroom and get better as well," Peoples, Jr. said.
