Montana State women?s basketball standout Katie Bussey has been invited to participate in the 2012 Women?s Final Four Combine, March 30-31 in Denver, Colo.

In all, thirty collegiate seniors were invited to the combine to showcase their skills before scouts and coaches representing numerous WNBA and overseas professional leagues.

?I am excited for Katie to have this opportunity as she is so passionate about basketball and has put so many hours into developing her game,? said Montana State seventh-year head coach Tricia Binford. ?Competing at the combine gives her a chance to get seen on a national stage. I have no doubt that many doors will be open and she will have an exciting professional future wherever that may be.?

Bussey, who recently finished a stellar season for the Bobcats, was a 2011-12 unanimous All-Big Sky Conference First-Team selection. The Alamosa, Colorado, native established a new Big Sky Conference career record with 254 three-pointers, and tied the league?s single-game record scoring 41 points in MSU?s overtime win at Idaho State.

She finished the season averaging 17.3 points per game, while also leading the team in field-goals made, three-point field-goals made, free throws and assists. Bussey ended her career with 1,710 points, which ranks second on MSU?s all-time scoring chart.

?I?m excited for the opportunity to try and take my game to the next level,? Bussey said. ?I went back-and-forth about continuing my playing career, but with how the season went and receiving some interest, and finally the combine invite, this is something I want to pursue.?

Combine participants will be divided into eight teams, with Bussey playing for Team Switzerland, coached by Ina Nicosia, who currently directs a squad in Switzerland?s top league.
