BOZEMAN, Mont. -

The Bridger Station Post Office is set to close its doors. The post office operates out of Van's IGA on North 7th.

Employees say the owner of the grocery store could not work out a lease agreement with the Postal Service.

The post office is set to close May 11th but employees say they're not giving up.

They say they're always busy and the five employees know the names and faces of their 2,000 P.O. box holders.

Some customers say they're surprised. They say they love the post office and will be sad to see it go.

"We use it all the time and I'm just crushed to hear that it's...considered to be closed...The people here are nice, they're helpful and they always have a smile on their face and it's just pleasant to be here. That's why we choose coming here, for the convenience and the people," says customer Sharon Emig.

Employees say they're hoping the post office will reconsider. They also say Senators Tester and Baucus and Congressman Rehberg have gotten involved.

Employees have also started a Facebook page to spread the word and gain support.
