A man has been charged with threatening President Barack Obama after reportedly telling Secret Service agents that he planned to kill Obama and everyone else he blames for his wife's 2009 death.
In an affidavit by Secret Service Special Agent Tadd Downs released Thursday, John Paul Sigl first threatened the president in an April 19 call to a 911 dispatcher in Billings.
Sigl was committed to a psychiatric center and then to the Montana State Hospital in Warm Springs.
Agents interviewed Sigl three times and he reportedly said, "If I get out of here, I will find a way to kill the president."
Charges were filed after a psychiatrist said he doubted Sigl is mentally ill and a social worker said she took his threats seriously.
