Kayla Anderson is the Sports Director at KECI. Kayla came to us in August 2009 from Spokane, WA where she served as a Sports Reporter for the ABC affiliate, KXLY.

Before working in her hometown of Spokane, Kayla worked for two years as the Weekend Sports Anchor at WAKA, the CBS affiliate in Montgomery, AL where she covered everything from SEC football to NASCAR. Kayla got the opportunity to cover some of the best college football the state had to offer with Alabama and Auburn being just minutes away. In 2008, Kayla received an AP Award for "Best Sports Story," a feature on motorcross racing in the South.

Kayla attended Washington State University, where she graduated from the Edward R. Murrow School of Communication in 2005. She received her first televison job after college in Bend, OR. working as a Sports/News Reporter for the NBC affiliate, KTVZ.

Kayla is passionate about covering all types of sports, and is excited to be in Missoula, where there are many opportunites for unique stories. Although she is a Spokane native, she does have ties to Missoula, where her great uncle, Gale Henriksen played basketball for the Griz from 1958-61.

In her spare time, Kayla enjoys working out, running, watching sporting events, spending time with her family and hanging out with her awesome husband and her black lab, Champ-Bailey.
